Textile design: stylised chrysanthemums

28 Mar
2017
David Walsh

This textile design was produced by Charles Rennie Mackintosh during his time in Chelsea (1915-1923).

Mackintosh designed many textiles based on organic and stylised plant forms, often manipulating the composition. The chrysanthemum has been abstracted to produce a repeat pattern suitable for transferring onto long lengths of fabrics.
