The Friends of 78 Derngate were founded in 1998 by a group of Northampton people interested to support the restoration of the Charles Rennie Mackintosh – designed house and its opening to the public. Membership of The Friends is open to all.

The Friends of 78 Derngate support and promote the activities of the 78 Derngate Trust in the conservation of the Mackintosh house.

Their aims are:

  • To raise money to support the Trust’s activities.
  • To raise public awareness of and support for these activities.
  • To engage in research into subjects connected with the properties held by the 78 Derngate Trust.

Members enjoy certain benefits such as free entry to 78 Derngate, shop discounts, a regular events and trips programme and a bi-monthly newsletter.

Articles from the newsletter which contain material of potential scholarly interest are being added to the online archive and can be found by searching via the ‘Categories’ list or via the search bar.
