Something a little different occurred at 78 Derngate on a balmy summer evening in July… on Thursday 21st July we welcomed 12 budding artists for our inaugural Prosecco & Paint at 78 Derngate - what an occasion!
Guests started with a swift, guided tour round 78 (for many this was their first visit) getting inspired by the unique and eclectic interiors of the Charles Rennie Mackintosh house. They then moved on to the Gallery Upstairs to find individual A4 canvas/easel, a selection of brushes and paints and a glass of prosecco at the ready for them to get to work creating their 78Derngate-inspired masterpieces.
Aware of the importance of using our spaces for a variety of events, and encouraging new and regular visitors to engage with the rich heritage of Northampton and the wider county, this unique evening heralded a terrific kick start into what we sincerely hope will become a regular fixture on the social calendar for the months ahead!
It was a delightful evening of brushes, bubbles and conversation and we can’t wait for the next session, so keep an eye out on the 78 website and social media pages!
